When would my SC's Comps certification expires?

Any education certificates issued by Comps Academy are valid for five years from their issued date for South Carolina education. The SC Commission will recognize your education credit during this five-year grace period.

We have students who have successfully completed our course and then have those "life happens" moments which may mean they have put their real estate goals aside for now. They too have up to 5 years to pursue their real estate goals without having to retake the course.

As of July 1, 2024, the South Carolina Real Estate Commission has reduced the time allowed for applicants to meet their licensing requirement from 5 years to 3 years, Therefore once. you've applied to the Commission within the five years, your three-year clock starts. Therefore, be strategic when applying for your license.

Reduction in time applicants may reapply after failing exam from 5 years to 3: An applicant who fails to complete both the state and national portions of the exam may reapply to become eligible if applicable qualifying courses were completed within 3 years before applying for the exam. The prior law gave applicants up to 5 years. (Section 40-57-320(B)(3))
